ROGERS FAMILY STORIES

Return to Rogers Tree Page

Brighton Rock
William Rogers was in the profession of Confectioner. His grandchildren remember fun times with him and their father making toffee together. It is said that William invented the process of a picture being able to go all the way through Rock (see picture above). This information is well known, and heard about by branches of the family that have recently connected. We would love to be able to confirm this.

Frederick Rogers in front of the Prince of Wales, Windsor. His father, David Rogers, was the owner at that time. It is documented that prior to David, William Rogers was proprietor, but we are not sure if this was David's brother, or his father, also William.
David later owned the Cafe Royal, with his daughter Mabel as managress of the Theater Royal next door. In later years many of his children helped in the running of the Cafe, including Frederick.
