People often ask where do we do our research online. Here are a few links to the places that we go.

Please remember not to assume what you find is accurate. There are so many family trees online that are full of errors and assumptions. The top two links below have a lot of documentation online that is reliable. But they also have personal family trees uploaded by people who haven't verified their research. Our practice is to try and document everything. We will look at these trees for leads; especially when we hit a brick wall. But never assume something is true without documentation to back it up!

resource familysearch.org This is the site done by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They have a wonderful database of free information. What isn't free they will have links to sites that require payment, like ancestry.com, to view the actual document, but you can still see the information.

Getting information beyond census and dry data newspaper.com Reading newspaper articles about family members can open doors you never could in other ways.

Finding military records fold3.com A great resource for military records

Finding that missing date,
or that missing link findagrave.com Cemeteries can tell all sorts of stories. Many family members are buried together. On the site other researches have linked these members together, and uploaded obituaries. This can be a great resource to help lead you to that missing link. But keep in mind that at times information is not varified.
